Hey folks,
It's a big day! Mad Atlantic reached fifty likes on Facebook, so I decided to release a cover I've been working tirelessly on for almost a month now.
It's a cover of Sigur Rós' "Svefn-g-englar," a beautiful post-rock song that has had a profound effect on my music.
I hope you enjoy it.

DJ Hawken's Future Noise Pt.5
The latest "Future Noise" DJ mix is out now!
This time around, we're taking on minimal house, but with a future garage blend. Plenty of UK producers make it onto this set with some surprising remixes. The mix slowly works its way out of the minimalist world and more into the popular one, with some more vocal pieces towards the end.
Thanks for listening!

DJ Hawken's 'Future Noise' Pt. 3
Here's another one from a week ago. Straight abstract hip-hop for a half-hour. All short tracks. I'm gonna keep this a trilogy for a little bit while I focus my attention to the studio.

DJ Hawken's 'Future Noise' Pt. 2
Here's the second installation of "Future Noise." All ambient/modern classical/drone pieces, meant to be as quiet as possible for reading, sleeping, studying, relaxing, or meditating...
This might even be nice to play whilst enjoying a cigar and a good book on your patio during this beautiful (if not premature) spring weather!
Cheers,
DJ Hawken

Recent Influences...
...for those of you looking for something to listen to or do in the absence of new Mad Atlantic music.
So, a while ago I listed the influences on my DSOTM project. They were:
Battles
65daysofstatic
St. Vincent
Mogwai
The Flaming Lips
!!!
Elbow
Now, I have a different list for you:
Pet Slimmers of the Year
Kyuss
Red Fang
The Heavy Eyes
Spiritualized
The Glitch Mob (I know... Not very "rock." Just bear with it.)
Crippled Black Phoenix
Agalloch
Weedeater
If you do some research, you'll notice the trend has shifted from art-rock, post-rock, and psychedelia to stoner rock, sludge metal, prog rock, space rock, and heavy psych. These influences are slowly seeping their way into the music. I can guarantee that the next album (whenever it arrives; certainly not soon) will be drastically different from anything I've done.

Unfortunately, this new album will not be free like the last one. I'm a college student (currently unemployed) and I have to make money somehow!
I promise updates when I can get them out. I eventually want to take this new album to the stage and I'm calling on you all to be my street team! But, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it...
Cheers!

DJ Hawken - "Hack Sound"/DJ sets
Just wanted to inform you that my glitch hop/dubstep side-project DJ Hawken is going smoothly and the first single is out!! It's available for free on Bandcamp.
Also, as an actual DJ, I also do my own sets, incorporating glitch hop, dubstep, abstract hip-hop, and house alongside my own original work, like the song above. If you're interested, please contact me.
Thanks! May your parties be many and exciting (and responsible...),
